I think Ben had in mind the song 'Sunshine on my Shoulders'. Those light-blocking hotel curtains can pack a whallop when you open them in the morning.
Okay, okay, so after 2.5 years of blogging I make a little typo or two! (Neil just informed me that Ben specifically referred to "sunshine," not "sunlight," more in keeping with the John Denver lyric.)
